I understand your point. however seeing that much of the firmware is a bundle of freely available software
I assume the same bugs appear in the other X version's FTP server engines.

It isnt a show stopper as alternative ways to access the box are available but all slower and less efficient than FTP.
Still, you may well be right. :cry:
But I live in hope. As a programmer I do so hate to see badly written software installed on good equipment.

Since one can't dump songs into the DB, it has to go through the HDD or directly imported via a network or other to the DB.
Hence using ftp to the HDD->DB, so you are copying twice.
Using SMB means you can link up & update the DB directly, unless of course you prefer to keep the HDD1 section with folders etc.
