Would it be possible to fit an I2S interface to my Pro X100?
My DAC can decode DSD256 but only via its I2S input, which uses the HDMI connection hardware. I was wondering if I could fit an interface card to the motherboard.
The alternative is to use an USB/I2S bridge. I already have one, a Gustard U12, but this is limited to DSD128. The Singxer SU-1 would do the job at around £300, but an interface card should be a lot more reasonably priced if available.

No don't think it will work; if your Dac can't decode via USB a 12S won't either.
What Hi Res file are you playing?

My DAC can play DSD512 via it's I2S input, but only DSD128 via USB, whilst I think the X100 can put out up to DSD256. So, instead of using another device to convert USB to I2S, I was wondering if an I2S interface board may be available to install in the X100.
