A friend bought an X10 on my recommendation as I have had mine for 3 years he was impressed by it, 6 months on he has started having trouble with it and asked me to investigate. The problem is that after about 10 minutes of use the remote control commands become very slow and sluggish timed at appox 7-11 seconds response time the X10 then freezes up and the remote and even buttons on top of the unit wont function , I then switch off and leave for about 10 mins and try again all works ok just as above but then starts to play up again. I think a component inside is overheating and causing this problem, any suggestions please before it gets returned for replacement.
This unit was not bought with an internal HDD and is run via an external usb HDD.
