Hi,

I have an X10 with latest firmware. I have a strong WIFI signal in the room with X10 (as measured on my laptop). However when I listen to any radio station I often suffer buffering problems. Most buffering problems seem to sort themselves out after a couple of minutes of the device being switched on but there are times that even after 30 minutes or longer the buffering returns. My WIFI router is close by. The signal strength on the X10 shows 10% and the link quality alos shows 10%. Is there anything I can do to improve the signal strength (and theerfore end the buffering problems). For instance would buying a different aerial dongle improve the signal strength?

Thanks

Hi Gordon

In the absence of any other advice, maybe if you page down around 17 lines (assume you missed this) is a very
similar issue to yours:

Are these specific radio stations?
I would test with another stream type of the same radio stations or add them manually.
Sometimes there could be many links of the same radio stream so try a few.

Hi,

The problem seems to be related to my router. Have changed the channel from "auto" to channel 6 and the signal strength has improved.

Is there any other wifi dongle that would work with the cocktail audio? The signal strength for my Wifi of mobile phone is showing 4 bars (out of 5) yet the cocktail audio shows signal strength of only 20% (but at least it no longer buffers).

Many things can interfere with WIFI, sometime proximity isn't the best thing.
Also you might need to check for the best channel for UK:
